In 1999,Super Television Limited had lost nearly NT$2 billion. Sony Pictures, which held more than 80% of Super TV's equity, took over Super TV and decided to change its program strategy to focus on drama programs. The news department laid off half of its staff and reduced news programs,the Super TV logo was changed to use the Sony Entertainment Television trademark, but the word "Super TV" was used to replace the "Sony Entertainment Television" in the Sony Entertainment Television logo.

Before Animax was lanuched in asia,they also aired anime programing as an block,the block discontinued in sometime in 2005.

On September 5, 2002, Sony Pictures withdrew from Super Television Limited and Eastern Television took over.Therefore the channel renamed to Super TV again
