The League Cup was unsponsored for the first time since 1981, the same time as the EFL rebrand. The logo depicted the generic EFL logo, and, since each ball represents a team, 20 additional ones surrounding it, which are meant to represent Premier League teams. This was only used for the 57th edition of the competition in 2016/17.
