In 2007, the Football League signed a new naming rights deal with Johnstone's Paint. The competition was subsequently renamed the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, sometimes informally referred to by football fans as the JPT.
Checkatrade Trophy (2016–2019)[]
Leasing.com Trophy (2019–2020)[]
In August 2019, the EFL and car hire company Leasing.com announced that they had signed a new naming rights deal. The competition was subsequently renamed the Leasing.com Trophy.
Papa John's Trophy (2020–2023)[]
In October 2020, the EFL and Papa John's Pizza (UK) announced that they had signed a new naming rights deal.
Bristol Street Motors Trophy (2023-2024)[]
In November 2023, the EFL agreed with Bristol Street Motors to form the new name. With the deal lasting until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Vertu Trophy (2024-present)[]
On 21 November 2024, the EFL announced the Bristol Street Motors Trophy would rename to the Vertu Trophy with immediate effect. [1]
