The historical date of the appearance of the EiTB signal in Europe, May 3, 2001, occurs five years after Euskal Telebista made its first satellite broadcast. That took place at 10 o'clock in the morning of June 3, 1996, on the occasion of the World Congress of Information Technologies that took place at the International Fair of Samples of Bilbao. 6 months later, on December 31, 1996, the first regular broadcasts of ETB to America began by this same system and today Canal Vasco is present in 20 countries and hundreds of cable operators in the Americas.
