In 2011, East Asia Tonight was discontinued and merged with Southeast Asia Tonight to form Primetime Asia. (it was renamed as Asia Tonight in 2019)
2024-present (second incarnation)[]
As part of CNA's 25th anniversary, CNA announced on 19 March 2024 that the East Asia Tonight bulletin would be returning to the channel as a new 1-hour weekday bulletin from 6:00pm - 7:00pm (GMT +8) providing a round-up of all the day's events in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, North and South Korea, coverage of breaking news and international news in brief, as well as news analysis from CNA's correspondents around East Asia. The show is presented by Otelli Edwards, with Dawn Tan acting as a relief presenter.
