The East India Trading Company is a fictional trading company accurate to the lore of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. It is based off of a real company of the same name which existed from 1600 to 1874. The fictional company was first mentioned in the 2003 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, with its first actual appearance being three years later in the 2006 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
