Ege TV was the regional television channel in İzmir. It was launched in 1992 as Kanal Ege. At launch, it was owned by Yaşar Holding. However, when Yaşar Holding exited the media business, Ege TV was completely sold to Bakioğlu Holding in 2001. After the sale to Bakioğlu, Ege TV, along with Radyo Ege commenced broadcasting via satellite to all of Europe, which Bursa's Olay TV did that a few years ago back then.

On 1 May 2017, the parent company Bakioğlu Holding had announced that Ege TV ceased transmission after 23 years of broadcasting. That left İzmir with no television channels, only radio stations until 2019, when TV 35 (later TR 35) and later Bir TV we’re launched respectively.
2 years after the closure, Ege TV was sold to Kanal 58 from Sivas and began broadcasting through Kanal 58's frequency, but they renamed it to World Türk TV on 10 October 2022 and is still broadcasting as of today. However, Ege TV's building from late 2004 to 2017 was left abandoned at that time.
On 6 July 2024, Karne Media Group gained the intellectual rights of Ege TV for a third relaunch.
