Eggo originated in 1936 as a brand name for mayonnaise, condiments, potato chips, batter mixes, and other items made in San Jose, California. In 1955, Eggo frozen waffles were introduced. The Kellogg Company purchased the brand in the late 1960s with an eye on the frozen foods business. Soon afterwards, Eggo frozen waffles were introduced nationwide, and in 2025, they released ice cream.
