Elder-Beerman was formed in 1962 when Beerman Stores merged with Elder & Johnston Company.
In 2003, after exiting bankruptcy protection, Elder-Beerman was acquired by The Bon-Ton.
In 2006, all Bon-Ton stores were rebranded to add the red hexagon pattern in their logos.
In 2018, The Bon-Ton filed for bankruptcy, and would close all stores, including Elder-Beerman stores.
