1942–1974[]

Empresa Nacional Calvo Sotelo de Combustibles Líquidos y Lubricantes (ENCASO) was a Spanish company which elaboration and commercialized hydrocarbons. It was founded by José Calvo Sotelo (uncle of Leopoldo Calvo Sotelo, who later would be the Prime Minister of Spain between 1981 and 1983) who was the Minister of Finance during Miguel Primo de Rivera's government (1928-1930). Originally, it had the goal of obtain fuel through the refining of oil shale. In 1974, it merged with two companies of the sector to form EMPETROL.
