1974–1983[]

Empresa Nacional de Petróleos (ENPETROL), sometimes cited as Empresa Nacional de Petróleo (EMP), was a Spanish State-owned company manufacturing hydrocarbons and lubricants. Born in the context following the 1973 oil crisis, for all of its existance ENPETROL became one of the main oil productors in Spain, controlling a network of refineries the entire Spanish territory.
1983–1987[]
In 1987, from its activities and facilities, Repsol was created.
