Ethiopian Airlines is the state-owned flag carrier of Ethiopia and the largest airline in Africa in terms of fleet size, destinations served and passengers carried. It is a member of the Star Alliance since 2011 and is its third African member, after South African Airways and EgyptAir.

Ethiopian Airlines introduced a new logo and livery in July 2003. The new eurowhite livery has a billboard-style layout of the airline english wordmark. The Ethiopian tricolour emblem is stylised to fit on an aircraft's tailfin and it generally appears in superscript above the Ethiopian English and Amharic wordmark.
