Emirates Telecommunication Group Company PJSC, branded as Etisalat (Arabic for ‘communications’), is an Emirati multinational telecommunications company with a presence in 15 countries across the Middle East, Africa (especially through its part-subsidiary Maroc Telecom) and South Asia.
In its home country, the United Arab Emirates, Etisalat had a monopoly in the telecommunications sector until Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (branded as du) was launched in 2006. Since then, Etisalat and du have had a duopoly in the UAE.
Etisalat introduced a new logo on 22 October 2000.
With the advent of du, Etisalat rebranded with a new logo and identity on 24 May 2006. It introduced a new slogan, Reach, which has since been retired.
