Excelsior is the Mexican national daily newspaper founded with its motto "El periódico de la vida nacional" (lit. The newspaper of national life.") It is owned and published by Grupo Imagen, also the operator of radio and television stations.
This logo was the longest lived masthead of the newspaper until 2006.
In January 23, 2006, Grupo Imagen bought Excelsior from Olegario Vázquez Raña, owner of Grupo Empresarial Ángeles.
