In 2017, the club was renamed FCSB due to an earlier lawsuit from the Ministry of National Defense (the owners of the CSA Steaua Bucuresti multi-sports club) suing the club in 2011, claiming that the Romanian Army owned Steaua's logo, crest, honours and name. The Supreme Court of Romania invalidated the club's privatization by Gigi Becali and found on the army's favor, stripping the club from its badge on 3 December 2014. The new logo was adopted on January 2015.
