Speedvision was launched on New Year's Day, January 1, 1996. Its launch identity was created by Novocom.
On February 4, 2002, Speedvision became Speed Channel and relaunched after its purchase by News Corporation. The logo was made by American design agency nx world.
In late 2005, SPEED Channel re-branded themselves as SPEED, cancelling some TV shows including NASCAR Nation. Sometime in 2007, the change became official, as the word "channel" was dropped from its logo.
