On November 4, 2019, Facebook, Inc. introduced a new wordmark for the company, one independent of that of its namesake social network. The new logo uses custom typography and is designed for clarity, with the goal of creating a visual distinction between the company and app. Facebook stated the goal of including the text "from Facebook" was to let people know that its apps have shared infrastructure and rely on many of the same teams. The new logo was designed in-house with Dalton Maag and Saffron Brand Consultants. Prior to this logo's usage, the company used the normal Facebook logo.
“Choosing an all-caps treatment as a way to create distinction from the app made it more important to craft unique letterforms. We designed the new company wordmark with clarity and openness in mind.”
