Fakt Marathi, meaning ‘Only Marathi’, is a Marathi-language TV channel owned by the Enterr10 Network. It was originally a Marathi movie channel similar to Zee Talkies; it was soft-launched in October 2015 as Aapla Talkies (meaning ‘our talkies’), and renamed to Fakt Marathi in January 2016.
Following the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s drastic changes in TV channel packaging and pricing in December 2018 and January 2019, Fakt Marathi stopped showing movies in March and instead started showing old serials of the now-defunct general entertainment channel Mi Marathi. This, coupled with its presence on DD Free Dish, the government-owned free-of-cost satellite TV platform, dramatically inceased its viewership ratings and made it among the most-watched Marathi TV channels since April 2019.[1]
