FamilyMart is a Japanese chain of convenience stores based in Minato, Tokyo. The company was founded in 1973 with a location opening in Sayama, Saitama. Today, the company operates over 24,000 locations across east Asia, 17,000 of them being located in Japan, although the chain is also located in South Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, and others. The stores are well-known for activating a unique jingle whenever a customer walks in; a jingle originating from Panasonic.

FamilyMart is the 2nd largest convenience store chain in Japan behind 7-Eleven.
