Family Jr. was originally Playhouse Disney Channel, like WildBrainTV, which started as Disney XD Canada.

When Playhouse Disney changed to Disney Junior, Playhouse Disney Channel changed to Disney Junior Canada, until 2015.

After Corus Entertainment acquired the rights to Disney's programming, DHX Media (now WildBrain) re-branded the channel to Family Jr.
