FICA started as MPC, short from "Mostra das Potencialidades do Concelho de Sever do Vouga". This name was only used on this edition that lasted 8 days.

Again, in 1994, the name was maintained, but the meaning of the acronym was extended to "Feira Industrial Comercial, de Artesanato, Agricultura e Gastronomia do concelho de Sever do Vouga". This meaning was maintained until 2022, as in 2023 was rebranded, shorting the name and changing the meaning of the acronym.

In 2023, as a decision of Sever do Vouga's Town Hall, Fica Vouga was rebranded to FICA changing not only the name, but also its meaning. The new name is a short for "Festival Intercultural das Comunidades e do Associativismo. This logo was designed by then-administrator of Logopedia, WXDS.

Residents did not like the name "FICA" which created a controversy that led the organizing entity to get back the previous name, but maintaining the new meaning on the first four letters.
