In 1973, DWFM was launched in the frequency of 92.3 MHz. Previously, the frequency was used by Philippine Broadcasting Service under the station DZFM-FM (the second FM station) back in 1967 and it was shut down in 1972 during Martial Law.

1983–1998[]

MRS 92

In 1983, 10 years after the debut of DWFM, a new logo was used. MRS sets in a PacMan-like font. All MRS stations have this logo.

In 1998, when NBC was bought by MediaQuest Holdings from the Yabut family and Manny Villar, MRS 92.3 was reformatted as Joey @ Rhythms 92.3. The font for Joey and Metro Manila is in Bank Gothic (ala CBN) and 92.3 is in DK Carambola (ala ABS), (both now ABS-CBN). It plays smooth jazz, other Rhythms stations with different formats include Jesse @ Rhythms 102.3 Baguio with a CHR format, Tony @ Rhythms 101.1 Zamboanga with an oldies format, Rocky @ Rhythms 98.3 Iligan with a rock format and others.
