CCTV-1 (CCTV-1 综合, "General") is the flagship channel of Chinese television network CCTV. It has a mixture of all kinds of TV programs and is available on cable, terrestrial, and satellite television services.
Beijing Television[]
The first channel of Beijing Television (北京电视台) began regular broadcasts on September 2, 1958. The channel used handwritten or Song typeface "北京电视台" Chinese characters as its ident.
1958–1978[]

1979–1987[]
Beijing Television was renamed China Central Television (CCTV, 中国中央电视台) in May 1, 1978. CCTV-1 used CCTV's "butterfly" logo as its ident. In 1983, CCTV-1 introduced computer-generated on-screen logos. Initially, the on-screen bug had a "butterfly" pattern.

1987–1992[]
After CCTV-2 became available nationwide, CCTV-1 added figure "1" to its screen bug to avoid confusion. The logo was narrowed in 1988 following CCTV moving its operation to Color TV Center (now CMG Headquarters).
October 1991[]
February 1992-August 1992[]
On 1 February 1992, CCTV1 starts using the butterfly logo as an on-screen logo. The logo includes the underline and the twin-striped number "1".
August 1992–December 1992[]
The logo is moved to the upper left corner.
1993–1998[]
On 1 January 1993, all the on-screen logos changed from '中央电视台-X' to the Butterfly Logo with the twin-striped numbers.
1998–2001[]
On 1 June 1998, CCTV-1 started using the 1998 logo.
2001–2010[]
On 9 July 2001, CCTV-1 starts using the "Spoon" logo with the CCTV logo. Also, the number 1 is inside the spoon.
2011–present[]
Starting 1 January 2011, all the CCTV logos are changed, but the numbers in the spoon for the channels and the Chinese text is under. In there has number "1" inside and the text "综合" under.
