This logo was originally registered in 1977[1] and first seen on a two-page grand opening advertisement for two converted Wards Loading Dock stores in North Carolina, the first stores to use the Circuit City name. For a month it was used concurrently with the 1989 logo, but was last used on December 31, 1989.

When stockholders of Circuit City’s parent company Wards Co., Inc. voted to change the company’s name to Circuit City Stores, Inc. to reflect its most profitable division in June 1984, a new corporate logo was introduced with it.

This logo was originally used as a secondary, with a neon inline similar to its predecessor.
2000–2004[]
2004–2012; 2019–present[]
When the chain went bankrupt in 2009, Systemax bought the name and logo. They then converted the late company into an online retailer known as CircuitCity.com, which used the same logo.
In October 2016, New York area retail vets Ronny Shmoel and Albert Liniado purchased the brand, domain, and trademark rights from Systemax. In 2018, Circuit City was revived as an online store. This logo was brought back in 2019 as a secondary logo, before becoming the main logo again in 2022.
