Ident Gallery[]

The first of the new idents was actually seen ahead of launch on Tuesday 10 September 2002, before the movie 'Saving Private Ryan'. The second of the idents was seen for the repeat showing of the film on Sunday 15 September. The new look was officially launched on Monday 16 September 2002. At least 50 idents were made during this period.

2004 Idents[]

On Monday 8 March 2004, the complete set of idents was replaced by these 8 below, featuring scenes at a fair, car boot sale and a car wash. These lasted until 1 November 2004.

November 2004 Idents[]

On Monday 1 November 2004, five introduced new idents that placed the 'five' logo in the idents, forming on pregnancy scans, being borne by leaf-carrying ants and in formations of swarms of midges.

2006 Idents[]

The final set with this logo was launched on Monday 23 January 2006, but didn't actually use the logo in them. Instead, various words connected to the ident were shown in the same font as the logo. It also brought back the channel's 1999-2002 jingle in the music to the set. The idents were created by BB/Saunders.

New versions of "fear", "free", "feel", "live", "rush" and "risk" idents came about in January 2007, with all the words replaced by "five". There were no versions for "love", "easy", "play", "fast", "life" and "hope". The soundtrack to the "rush" variant was slightly tweaked, whereas the "fear" variant has no music. In October 2007, three new idents were added, where the logo only appeared for a few seconds partway through by the surroundings.
