Channel 1 ((Hebrew: הערוץ הראשון‎, lit. The First Channel, sometimes called 1 ערוץ) was one of the oldest television channels in Israel (with only the Israeli Educational Television being older) and one of five terrestrial channels in the country (along with Channel 2, Channel 10, Channel 33 and the Knesset Channel). It was the flagship TV channel of the Israel Broadcasting Authority from its launch on 2 May 1968 until 14 May 2017, when the IBA was replaced by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (branded as Kan). In May 2017, Channel 1 was replaced by the new Kan 11 channel.

Since the beginning, Channel 1 shares the same frequency with IETV. Until 1994 (as of Channel 2's launch), the channel was called General Television (Hebrew: הטלוויזיה הכללית) or Israeli Television (Hebrew: הטלוויזיה הישראלית).
