WWE COO Triple H announced the NXT UK brand at the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament 2018 along side the newely appointed General Manager, British wrestling legend, Johnny Saint.
On August 18, 2022, WWE announced that it was temporarily suspending NXT UK due to the expansion of NXT's branch and development to export to more Europeans as NXT Europe It will be launched in 2023. In the final event of NXT UK that will be temporarily closed to renovate NXT Europe, Worlds Collide, on September 4, 2022.
