In 1994, Radio Chilena obtained 50% of the regional TV channel Telenorte as its former owner, the Universidad Católica del Norte, sold that half. Radio Chilena would later acquire the remaining 50%. Radio Chilena would control Telenorte until the channel closed in 2001.

In 2005, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (via Canal 13) received 100% of Radio Chilena in Santiago, alongside FM frequencies in Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, Calama and La Serena. On the 31st of December that year, Canal 13 ended with Radio Chilena due to its high operational costs, and replaced it with Play FM, which was launched on February 27th 2006. All other concessions would be later sold to various archbishoprics, which eventually launched their own radio stations.
