On August 31, 1987, after WTVN-TV was bought Anchor Media from Great American broadcasting, the new ownership changed the station's callsign to WSYX. The station kept its 1984 logo even with the change.

The ABC logo was added to the circle part of the logo.

Note: The 1984 '6' logo would be used until 2000, when the below logo was introduced. This "News Center" logo was a secondary logo for the station's joint news operation with WTTE.

Eventual sister station WRGB in Albany, New York would use a similar logo in 2016.

On January 7, 2021, the Sinclair Broadcast Group moved the intellectual property of sister station WTTE to a third subchannel of WSYX, as part of Columbus' adoption of ATSC 3.0. WTTE then became a primary affiliate of Sinclair-owned TBD.
