The 2010 FIFA World Cup was the 19th edition of the FIFA World Cup, the global championship tournament in men's association football, held across 10 cities in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010.

The defending champions were Italy, who won the 2006 tournament in Germany. The tournament was won by Spain, which beat the Netherlands in the Soccer City stadium, Johannesburg, on 11 July 2010.

The South African Football Association revealed the logo for the bidding for the 2010 FIFA World Cup sometime during 2002. On 15 May 2004, South Africa was selected to host the 2010 World Cup deafeating bids presented by Egypt and Morocco.

The official emblem of the 2010 FIFA World Cup was unveiled on 7 July 2006 in Berlin, Germany during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. This is the only men's FIFA World Cup logo to be enclosed in a rectangle like the FIFA Women's World Cup (the rectangular logo system was scrapped starting from the 2019 Women's World Cup).

The official mascot for the tournament was revealed on 22 September 2008. The mascot's name was Zakumi and was an anthromorphized leopard who wants to make friends and raise the excitement for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The mascot was designed by Andries Odendaal.
