Due to financial problems of NTV, the first Russian season lasted only four episodes (the last episode was a documentary about the experience during the filming of the show).
In 2002 Rossiya picked up the rights to produce Fort Boyard.

In 2013 Channel One became a rights holder of the Russian version of Fort Boyard which lasted only one season.

STS is the current rights holder and producer of the Russian version of the show.
