Star Premium was a group of Latin American premium pay-TV movie channels founded in 1997 by LAPTV (a joint-venture between Hollywood studios Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and 20th Century Fox) under the name Movie Pack.

It is currently owned by Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International and operated by The Walt Disney Company Latin America.

With the launch of the new services Citymix (replacing Cinecanal 2) and Cityvibe in November 1, 2007, Premium Ilimitado was renamed Paquete Movie City (Movie City Pack).

On February 22, 2021, Fox Premium was rebranded as Star Premium, following the retirement of the Fox brand in Latin America. [1]

On September 23, 2021, Disney announced that Star Premium will cease operation on January 31, 2022, shutting down all the premium channels and transferring the content to Star+.[2]
