The France national rugby union Team have their origin in the rugby team of Union des Sociétés Françaises des Sports Athlétiques, USFSA (Union of French Athletic Sports Societies).
On the blue home shirts the shield was red, while on the white away shirts the shield was blue.
The logo suffers a radical restyling, the shape of the badge changes and the cockerel becomes more abstract and stylised, with the "FFR" replacing the ball with the monogram "FFR" below the cockerel
The logo was unveiled with the new jersey for the 2019 Rugby World Cup made by Le Coq Sportif.
