Drawing inspiration from Narrm Football Club the year prior, Fremantle will also go by a First Nations name during the AFL Premiership Sir Doug Nicholls Round and AFLW Indigenous Round. The club will go by Walyalup Football Club, Walyalup being the term in the Noongar language for 'place of the woylie' (brush-tailed bettong).
