Despite the entire brand system having been drawn up and planned, it was only implemented on a ticket counter and office in Las Vegas before the airline merged with Central Airlines in 1967 and the planned changes were reverted.
The original Frontier Airlines ceased operations in 1986, when it merged with Continental Airlines, whose identities at the time were coincidentally both created by Saul Bass. The logo was reworked in 2014 as part of the new logo for the current Frontier Airlines.
