In June 2009, G4TechTV was renamed G4.

Although the American version of G4 ended its operations on December 31, 2014, the Canadian version was still airing until August 31, 2017, after Rogers quietly announced the previous month that they would be shutting down G4 due to "the current competitive television landscape" and a desire to focus on Rogers' "core specialty portfolio".

G4 Canada outlasted both its American counterpart and its intended replacement, the Esquire Network, which ended all operations on June 27, 2017.
