On 14 February 2022, the organizing committee announced to be co-hosted by Hong Kong, China and Guadalajara, Mexico and was made official on 29 June 2022. This marks the first time that these games will be held in more than one country and continent. It will be not only the first time in Asia, but the first time in Latin America.
