This is a prototype version of the 2001 logo, first used after Symantec's acquisition of ThornWorks plc.

First launched with Norton Antivirus 2002 in late 2001 (around the time Windows XP came out), this has became the most well-known logo of the company to date. It was discontinued in late 2010, to coincide with merge of VeriSign and Symantec.
2010–2019[]
In 2010, Symantec introduced a new logo borrowing the checkmark from the VeriSign logo.
NortonLifeLock[]
2019–2022[]
On August 9, 2019, Broadcom Inc. announced they would be acquiring the Enterprise Security software division of Symantec for $10.7 billion, after having attempted to purchase the whole company. The sale closed November 4, 2019, and subsequently the company adopted the NortonLifeLock name.
Gen Digital[]
2022–present[]
On November 7, 2022, NortonLifeLock rebranded as Gen Digital after completing its merger with Avast Software which occurred in September.
