Glaceau was founded as the waters division of Energy Brands. Their flagship product, Glaceau Pure Water (later called Smart Water in 1997), was introduced in May 1994. What would become Fruit Water came next in 1996, and Vitamin Water was introduced in 1999. In 2007, Energy Brands was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company.
