GOLD launched on 1st November 1992 as UK Gold.
In 1993. UK Gold received a new look.
All UKTV channels adopted new looks on May 8, 2001, except for Play UK, which adopted it previously in November 2000. UK Gold's new idents carried on the fireworks theme.
UKTV Gold changed its name to G.O.L.D. on October 7, 2008 as part of a major rebranding of UKTV's channels, where every channel would get a distinct name. The new look was created by Red Bee Media.
The slogan was removed from the logo in 2010, as well as the channel now referring to itself as 'Gold' instead of 'G.O.L.D.'.
In 2012 the dots were removed from the logo, now falling inline with how the channel is called.
Over the Christmas holiday period Gold rebranded as Christmas Gold with an emphasis on classic shows from Christmas past.
