Google is an internet search engine.

This logo was used only for a month. Back then, the uppercase "g" was green.

August 1998 – May 1999

1999–2010

Google logo

This is arguably the most familiar logo to viewer. The fontface is Catcull BQ and the exclamation point was removed.

2010–Present

This logo is just like the previous logo, except for the second "o" is more orange and the shadows have been reduced. The previous logo is still used as a secondary logo.

White Logos

The white versions of the Google logo are used during times of great tragedy. These include the Polish aircraft disaster which killed President Lech Kaczyński, the Qinghai earthquake and the Gansu mudslide of China. It is also used when there is a background.

April 2010 – May 2010

Similar to the first offical logo, this logo lasted only a month.

May 2010 – Present

The white logo was updated in tadem with the main logo

Trivia

  • The word 'google' is based on the word 'googol' which is a very big number with one hundred zeros, implying the amount of search results.
  • When searching, sometimes the word is extended, so it says "Gooooooooooooogle" or so on.
