Google+ launched on June 28, 2011.

In September 2015, Google and its other websites got their logos changed, including Google+. However, Google announced on October 8, 2018, that it was originally going to shut down its social network Google+ for consumers in August 2019 due to leakage of personal user data. However, the shutdown got moved forward to April 2 since it was announced on December 2018 that they would sunset all Google+ APIs in the next 90 days, and soon begin deleting site content in the subsequent months thereafter. Account creation on the site was shut down on February 4.
A few months after the Google+ shutdown, the company soft-launched an experimental social networking app called Shoelace oriented toward organizing local activities and events.
Google Currents[]
2019–2021[]
Google Currents replaced Google+ for G Suite. It has no connection with Google's electronic library of magazines replaced by Google Play Newsstand.
2021–2023[]
In 2021, Google Currents logo was given a minor overhaul.
In March 2023, Google Currents was merged with the "spaces" that are seen in Google Chat.
