On February 18, 2010, HBO launched HBO Go, a website which features 600 hours of content available for streaming in standard or high definition. Content includes HBO original programming, movies, comedy specials, documentaries, sports, and late night adult programming. It is available to HBO subscribers of Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-verse, Google TV, Charter Communications, Cox Communications, DirecTV, Dish Network, and Suddenlink Communications. The HBO Go iPad, iPhone, and Android app launched on April 29, 2011. The app was downloaded over 1 million times in its first week.

In 2020, WarnerMedia announced that HBO Go would shut down in the US and it would be replaced with HBO Max (now Max). On March 8, 2022, HBO Go in Central and Eastern Europe was also shut down and replaced by HBO Max.

On November 19, 2024, Warner Bros Discovery Asia-Pacific rebranded the HBO Go service as Max in the Southeast Asian region, effectively ending the HBO Go name overall after 14 years.
