HDCAM SR is a professional digital high-definition videotape format that was created by Sony in 2003. HDCAM SR is an improved version of the HDCAM format and is commonly used for HDTV production. It was the final iteration of the Betacam format to be released. Sony discontinued the format in 2016 in favor of tapeless formats.
