In 2021, HNA Group declared bankruptcy due to decline revenue since late 2010s and impact of COVID-19. Although the company was tried to restructuring from bankruptcy, the company has been forced splited. As result, HNA Group was forced splited into two division: HNA Aviation and HNA Infrastructure Investment, which acquired by Liaodong Fangda Group and Hainan Province Development Holding separately.
