The Munjal group ended its joint venture with Honda Motorcycles in 2011 and, on 29 July 2011, the name of the company was changed from Hero Honda Motors Limited to Hero MotoCorp Limited.
A new logo and brand identity was developed by Wolff Olins and revealed on 9 August 2011 at the Lord's Stadium, London, during a test cricket match between India and England. This signalled a new era for the company, as its parting ways with Honda coincided with its foray into international markets.
