TVQuality was launched by Argentine business Programas Santa Clara in 1992 as the first pay documentary network in that country. In 4 April 1994 a new channel was launched under the name Educable, focused in educational documentaries for children.

In July 2000, Programas Santa Clara was sold to Ole Communications / A&E Networks Latin America with it TV networks TVQuality and Educable. The main network was renamed The History Channel in October 2000, meanwhile Educable's programming block was kept in the new channel, as well added to A&E Mundo's schedule until 2003.
