History TV18 is the Indian version of History. It was launched in 2003[1] as The History Channel (now Star Life) under the ownership of Star, in a partnership with National Geographic. The History Channel rebranded to Fox History & Entertainment in 2008 and gradually turned into a lifestyle channel. History returned to Indian television on 9 October 2011[2] as History TV18, owned by AETN18 Network, a joint venture between A&E Networks and TV18. Later, in 2016, AETN18 launched FYI TV18.
History TV18’s competitors are Discovery, National Geographic, Sony BBC Earth, Animal Planet and Nat Geo Wild.

An HD feed was launched in October 2011 along with Colors HD and CNBC-TV18 Prime HD.
The logo was the same as the SD feed until August 2017, when an HD wordmark was added.[3] This came a few weeks after History TV18 adopted History’s new global branding identity.[4]
2022–present[]

History TV18 adopted the new logo and graphics of its international counterparts on 22 April 2022.
