Wesfarmers purchased Homebase in 2016 and began the process of rebranding the branches Bunnings Warehouse, a brand used for DIY stores by Wesfarmers in Australia. The first Homebase to become Bunnings Warehouse was St. Albans in 2017. However, in 2018, Wesfarmers sold Homebase for just £1 due to disapointing results. The stores which had been rebranded as Bunnings Warehouse also returned to the Homebase branding.
