Hook's Drug Stores was founded in 1900 in Indianapolis, Indiana by pharmacist John A. Hook. The chain flourished throughout central Indiana through most of the 20th Century and operated under three different names - Hook's in central Indiana, SupeRx around the Midwest, and Brooks Pharmacy in New England.

Hook's Drug Stores was acquired by Revco in 1994, which was then acquired by CVS in 1997. Many former Hook's and Revcos are now CVS Pharmacies.
